April 2017 was a very exciting time for LaTonia Allen. She was commissioned by four of Houston's most successful and influential to create/design an original piece to wear during Tina [Knowles] Lawson's Inaugural Wearable Art Gala at the California African American Museum in Los Angeles, April 29th, 2017. Those clients being:

Dr. Alvia Wardlaw; Director/Curator of University Museum, Texas Southern University

Cheryl Cruezot; President and Chief Executive Officer of Wealth Development Strategies, L.P

King Cruezot; Owner of Frenchy's Chicken

Melanie Lawson; Award-winning journalist and Anchor, ABC13 News
